Coronavirus Money for Small Businesses: President Trump extends Paycheck Protection Program

President Trump signed legislature Saturday extending the deadline for businesses to apply for coronavirus aid under the Paycheck Protection Program (aka PPP).

The COVID-19 relief legislation enacted in March expired last week with more than $130 billion in unused funds remaining. With his signature, the deadline for eligible businesses to apply was extended until August 8th.

The program has been an essential lifeline for American small businesses, which have been crippled by coronavirus pandemic-related shutdowns.
